Day 17- Cody, Wyoming

SUNDAY JULY 1ST, 2007

  TWB DAY 17

Here we are bright and early to go rafting. Do you have another life jacket color? Orange does not go with my outfit.

Dopey Team!
Crimens Clifford, Ashley Gibbings, Jacob Belk, Lucas Ward, Cati Dial, Katey Bozorth, Stewart Smith, Abbey Spoon, Hillary Kindschuh, Ethan Haithcox, Alan Gandy, Caleb Shelton, Cayli Meizel

After a late arrival on a warm summer night to Cody, Wyoming, everyone quietly crawled into their sleeping bags. Early in the morning the Ponderosa Camp Ground held no dew for the T-dubbers. After changing into our swim suits, we packed up and headed out to the Shoshone River to white water raft (at 7:15 a.m.!!). Soon after Zeke fell in, Crimens got soaked by Lucas and Will while Jordan Shoaf showed us his famous backflip off the side of the raft. Fun times on TWB! When we arrived back to camp it was still noon time and we had plenty of time to rest. Several people had planned to fall asleep but little did we know that Dennis, Grant, and Kitch had eggs, bacon, and grits ready for us to devour (it was a gourmet meal). Now it was laundry time and we all split up into our groups and headed out to the laundry mat, which was up to 20 dollars cheaper for some of us, except for who ever got stuck doing Vince's laundry (who was out of cash!). After a dinner prepared by the Grumpy group, chicken alfredo (a new favorite, until the dopey group cooks!) we headed out to the world renowned Cody, Wyoming Rodeo. Although Ryan Childress and Stewart Smith didn't get to pretend to be little kids and chase a calf with a flag on its tail, everyone had an amazing time. The Master of Ceremonies was quick to point out just how crazy the group of North Carolina kids could be.

Soon after the Rodeo we returned to camp and walked to Dairy Queen (everyone but the people writing this we're going in just a few). After realizing just how tired we really were people began to get into the sleep bags once again.

A Note From Kitch: What an incredible day this has been for all TWBers! Although the water was extremely chilly this morning, it didn't stop anyone from climbing into the Shoshone River for an awesome rafting experience. Unfortunately, I didn't get to join the group instead, I stayed behind to prepare a gourmet breakfast for everyone when they returned. Yummy! An afternoon of washing clothes (parents...some of your child's clothes are now pink from the inexperience of laundry duty), showering in hot showers, resting, relaxing, socializing, and goofing off was enjoyed by all. It was great to see that everyone does have the ability to be clean and smell nice on TWB. After our delicious chicken alfredo dinner, everyone got fancy for the famous RODEO. Cowboy hats, blue jeans, and many cute tops helped us get in the rodeo spirit. The rodeo was one of the best I have seen and we had so much fun! Bob discovered that he now is changing his career to be a rodeo clown. He can't wait to get his head stuck in a trampoline, dress up in a blue jean skirt, and hide in a barrel as bulls surround him. Overall, this has been an awesome day! With the bonds that are happening and the friendships that are forming, I am already dreading the 23rd day of TWB!

Flippin' Sweet Armband Competition Update:

Grant is back on TOP!!! Yesterday while Bob was showering he underestimated Grant's sneakiness. As Bob was showering Grant moved stealthily in to his shower stall and then removed his arm band. Bob thought that he could leave it lying out and repetitively check on it. Little did he know that Grant was very sneaky sneaky. Now Grant is back in control with both armbands. Hopefully, Grant will be able to make it through the rest of the trip in control, but this will take many sleepless nights and days of constantly watching the armbands.

The water looks cold at 7AM, brrrrrrrr!

The bus ride to the Shoshone river to go whitewater rafting. This reminds me of a school bus, NNNNOOOO not school!!!

Off we go down the river!

Row, row, row your boat, gently down the...Oh my goodness, a waterfall!!!

Dennis, Grant and Kitch cooked us breakfast!!! It was almost as good as Cracker Barrel.

Checking out the blog. Is everybody in the US checking this thing out?

Do ya'll have dishpan hands yet?

Howdy Ya'll! We are at the Rodeo having a good ole time!

Hanging out at the rodeo. Girls, you found some good looking cowboys!
