TWB Trip 1 2007 Experience : Before the Trip

WEDNESDAY JUNE 13TH, 2007

Get excited!!!! This is the very first blog EVER of TWB 2007. Participants beware... this blog was written by the staff, but you will receive the privilege of giving others a virtual tour of your TWB experience this summer. The staff has come together the past few weekends for counselor training. We have been working diligently to prepare for the experiences of a lifetime. Sportswear is now labeled and ready to give to each participant, vans are packed and waiting for riders to make memories, medical kits have been hand delivered by our pharmacist, kitchens have been organized by our kindergarten teacher, Kitchin, and finally the Big D (Dennis) has gotten over his diarrhea.

If you are a participant, we are looking forward to meeting you at Davidson College. We have all gone out West as participants and staff members, so trust us, we know the feelings you are experiencing. You may be uncertain and anxious about leaving for 23 days, but after a couple of hours with the most incredible, adventurous staff of all time, you will never want to leave us! Here's to you participants! Kitchinator (Kitch), G-rant (Grant), Wheatboy (Bob), and L-dub (Lauren) can't wait to GO OUT WEST!!! :)

THURSDAY JUNE 14TH, 2007

Wow, what an exciting day!! After a full morning, afternoon, and evening of finalizing the reservation books, washing the trailers (thanks Will Mack and David Smith for the extra help), organizing the vehicles, shopping for first day meals and easing the minds of nervous parents (over numerous phone calls), WE ARE FINALLY READY!! Our staff enjoyed our final meal together at Laney's Fish Camp tonight, where we discussed the upcoming meals that will be prepared for us by none other than you TWB participants (yes, we are a little scared). We are definitely looking forward to seeing each and every one of you TWBers bright and early tomorrow morning at Davidson College! Let's get ready to spend the next 23 days together traveling across America! Get some rest and we'll see you in the morning! =)
