TWB DAY 2
We started our second day to Kitch's beautiful voice singing Rise and Shine. We dressed and packed in a matter of 30 minutes and then we were off to Auburn University. Once we arrived at Auburn, we took our first group picture (which we included below) and sang Happy Birthday to Alan Gandy.

Look at all those smiling faces at 7:00AM!

The Big D and Alan on his birthday. Happy B-day Alan!
After several long hours on the buses and vans we pulled into NEW ORLEANS. Out first impressions of New Orleans was a copious amount of filth and destruction of Hurricane Katrina. As a group we went site-seeing to the Mississippi River, Cafe Du Monde, Bourbon Street and the Cathedral. Then it was our time to venture and buy souvenirs. On the way to our next campground we crossed over a 17 mile bridge over Lake Pontchartrain. Once we arrive at our campsite we will have dinner and perform our Dixie skits. Then it's off to bed because we have to wake up extra early tomorrow morning.
A note from Grant- What a great day we had!!! I can't express how much fun and excitement this group has to offer. The first competition we had last night was so much fun, I have never seen relay races become so competitive! WOW! That competition doesn't even compare to the Dixie skits that we just finished with. I thought we had professional actors with us on the trip, they were so good. As we are bedding down now, I just can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us. Good night America!

Some of the group helped Nathan Hewitt with his report, by spelling out MISSISSIPPI.

Here is the group getting crazy on Crazy Corner, N.O.
Look at those Bashfuls as they show off their acting skills in the Dixie Skit. |
