TWB DAY 4
The new bloggers the SLEEPY'S
Our New Mexican day started with a 5 a.m. wake up call from Kitch, after sleeping under the Texan stars. The morning bus ride was filled with kindergarten sing along songs, dance music, and napping as we headed towards New Mexico. Several hours after we enjoyed our traveling breakfast, we made a pit stop in Pecos, Texas at La Tienda, a Mexican grocery store. There, the Bashful group, purchased and prepared our gourmet meal of Beanie Wenies and chilled Spaghettios. After what seemed like an eternity, we finally arrived at Carlsbad Caverns. The sweet aroma of bat guano (poop) filled our nostrils as we made our way through the beautiful caverns, a sight that we will never forget. A surprise anti-freeze leak on the bus stranded a large part of the group at the caverns for a little over an hour. Once Jackie, our awesome bus driver, efficiently repaired the bus, we made our way to Roswell, New Mexico, to spot UFOs and spend another night under the stars, except this time at the New Mexico Military Academy.
A Note From Bob: When I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning, I was not prepared for all of the day's festivities. Let me inform you of all the TWB madness. It all began with a very romantic reading of the book, Why He Broke Up With You. From there, we began reciting poetry, having a tennis ball throwing competition, buying my little princess gigantic pencils and gold chain, avoiding wheat products at La Tienda, listening to Numa Numa for thirty straight minutes in the van, hiking Carlsbad Caverns, and having an extreme dance party and pillow fight. Oh, did I mention we had to repair a bus? How could I forget the wonderful Chicken-n-Rice meal for a midnight snack? It is all a life in the day of the most wonderful trip that has ever gone out west. The participants are bonding and supporting each other like never before and it is amazing to observe. I cannot imagine all the adventures or trouble we will find as we continue farther west.
 THe bomb.com driver Jackie!

Our first oil pump out west.
This is the best Mexican grocery store we can find, I think it is a little bit different than Harris Teeter.

The great tortilla makers in the back of the La Tienda.
Bob found a speical deal on wheat bread for $1.09!!! He is so excited.

Here is the group as they are about to head down in to the caverns. Does it smell bad yet?
