Day 3- San Antonio

  TWB DAY 3

It's been another wild day on TWB. This morning we woke up at 4:45 hoping to reach the Alamo by 5:30 before it closed. Everyone was very tired as we loaded on the bus and vans. For the first hour or two towards the big state of Texas everyone slept. Bob and Lauren enjoyed laughing at different participants sleeping positions and making a contest out of it. The Happy group fixed our gourmet meal, bagels with cream cheese. After being fed, we gained some energy and started looking forward to visiting Texas.

A few hours later, the Happy group fixed us all another fine meal: pizza wraps. Participant, Wesley Stewart, had this to say of the meal: The Happy group really stepped up to the plate on this meal. It is obvious to me that they could all easily be masters in the culinary field of work, particularly the field of pizza craft.

After lunch we listened to music and Kitch (and Grant) had a great idea of having a dance party in the aisle of the bus. At first only a few people would get up to shag but once the electric slide, the cha cha slide, and the Macarena were played, anyone that could fit was up dancing. The last song of the dance party was the Tooty Ta, Kitch's all-time favorite (a kindergarten song, of course). The dance party was a really fun way to get our minds off of the many more miles we had to drive to reach our destination.

We arrived at the Alamo at 4:00. We toured the building and took group pictures outside. Grant told all of us to take off our shoes and go to River Walk because we were meeting a lady who had flip flops for us. We burned our feet on the hot concrete embarrassing ourselves and we never did find the shoe lady. The group separated and went shopping for an hour and a half. Then, we boarded the bus to go to Kerrville State Park to spend the night. We have just arrived and are anxious to go swimming for the first time on the trip!!

A note from Kitch: Wow, what an AMAZING experience TWB has brought to us so far. We are very blessed to have such an awesome group of participants traveling with us this year. Everyone is getting involved with their responsibilities, meeting so many new friends, and enjoying an incredible amount of laughs together! I am very proud of my Happy team and all of their delicious meals they have set the standards high for this year's TWB experience! I look forward to the next 20 days with this tremendous group!

Sleeping Picture of the Day- Here is Joe Knight catching some ZZZ's in our food basket! Sweet dreams Joe.

Dance Party 2007!!! Watch out TEXAS!!!

We are at the river walk looking for the shoe lady. Until we find her, we will be barefooted!
